They are generic, but work great! It’s almost identical to the official Sony PS3 ones, with the exception of the PS3 logo on the center power button and the word Sony printed on it. You really can’t tell that it’s generic just looking and holding the controller! The one main difference is that you need to plug the included bluetooth receptor into your PS3 console to play wirelessly, which is really not a big deal.
